Laven is a Viera of the Rava Clan she is 98 years of age, born in Golmore Jungle. She is the eldest of 3 sisters who all look up to her.She is married to Rosia Sumyang and those who know her would consider her to be Lawful Good.She is 6’ 2” (187.65cm) and weighs 165 lbs/ 75kg.She is dark complexed with black hair and white highlights

She is very strong-willed and always seems to maintain her cool, she is very calm most of the time, it will take a lot to throw her off her game. She is very independent, strong, and does not back down, but does know that diplomacy is a far better tactic than fighting. She is a very optimistic person, she often tries to find a way to bring that out in everything she does.Strengths:

• She has settled down now with her life partner Rosia and has been raising their daughter, she still does nature checks gathering information on the conditions of the plant life around the coastal areas of Limsa. A lot of her concertation nowadays has been on getting the cafe/ bookstore up and running, there is a lot of baking, and gathering information on the different tastes of the area.• She has not picked up a sword and shield in anger or for combat in quite a while but she does still train with them every day.• She is very protective of her family and would be willing to do almost anything to keep them safe.• She has piqued her interest in music more, ever since others started telling her how good she is and wishing for her to play in their businesses.

Tale

The woods/ nature is everything to Laven, from her very first memories growing up with her mother and sister’s Laven always heard the woods speak to her, at times it was her only friend. Her childhood was blessed with three younger sisters Eva, Lija, and Eria, and her loving mother, Hildur she only meet her father after she was 13 and only for a brief few days. He was in the village checking on his children seeing if any males were born and ready to start their training, before returning to his wandering as all males do. Katrin (Laven) grew up helping her mother prepare meals for the family and also with clearing the woods around their village, she was very eager to learn as much as she good while growing up. Her mother and some of the elders in the village told her that her thirst for knowledge was like a river always searching for not only the lake but that of the ocean. Her sisters tended to always look up to Katrin, and she has always remained very close and protective of them.When she became old enough she joined the military of her village and learned combat tactics and how to fight, she quickly mastered her skill as she was a very quick learner taking to the sword and shield with ease. She always had a very strong feeling of protecting others and doing what was right to protect the woods. She was able to use the Mist (Aether) also during her fighting with the sword and shield, which her instructor began referring to her as a Paladin. He told her that being able to use the Mist as she does during combat and due to her strong faith in doing good and right in the world, made her more than just a fighter. During her time in the military, there were often times she felt as if the woods was moving her or guiding her during combat with outsiders or beasts. She always felt that reassurance that this was the actions and/or wishes of the woods, not just her or the will of the leaders, this is what the woods wished her to do. She moved up through the ranks and after many years of serving she became a Captain and was given a small unit to command, she was sent to a small outpost just on the edge of the woodlands bordering the occupied Dalmasca lands to help guard against the Garleans.

She held her post for almost 5 years, keeping enemy scouts at bay not letting any pass, it was on one of her visits back to her village and home that her sister Lija introduced her to a friend of hers Anna, Katrin (Laven) seemed to hit it off with her right away and spent most of the time with her until the day came where she was getting ready to head back to her post. Anna was very special in the fact that she could not speak, but she was very strong in the Mist and could summon Aether spirits, a lot of the village looked down on her thinking she was messing with the evil spirits of the woods, she asked Katrin if she could go with her back to the post. Katrin with the plea’s of her sister agreed to bring her back to the post with her, it was not that hard to convince her as she already had strong feelings for Anna.After a few weeks of being back at the post, there was a report of some intruders wandering around the woods Katrin and a few scouts went out to investigate the reports. They came upon a young teenage Elezen girl dressed in dark robes wandering aimlessly, she seemed confused. Katrin grabbed the girl and brought her back to the post ordering the others to continue their search for any other intruders. The girl did not speak the whole ride back to the post she only stared at Katrin (Laven), once they made it back she brought the young girl to seek medical aid worried there was something wrong with her, that caused her to be alone, confused and unable to speak. That is when Anna saw her and the young girl immediately seeing Anna dashed toward her, Katrin fearing for Anna she drew her sword and quickly dashed placing herself between Anna and the girl, Anna reached up holding onto Katrin’s shoulder nudged her aside, scooping up the young girl in her arms. The Elezen child spoke to Anna asking her if she could hear them also and reached up and rubbed Anna’s ear, a few weeks after Anna and Katrin became life partners and adopted the child. All the efforts up to this point of trying to find the girl’s family had failed, and this was the only thing the young girl would not speak of.Others began to speak that this was not the way of the woods that Katrin had been cursed into false beliefs from Anna and the child, that she had lost the ability to hear the voice of the woods anymore. Her troops started to doubt and question her, she went back to the village alone and spoke with the Matriarch, she gave up her position with the promise of safe passage for her and Anna and the child but she would never return to the woods. She then said her farewells to her mother and sisters and traveled to Gridania, where she became a welcomed assist in helping the Seers keep a watch on the forest. With the blessing of the Seers, they changed their names as they were no longer part of the woods, and is their tradition Katrin always loved lavender it has been a favorite flower and smell ever since she could remember so she took on the name of Laven and Anna changed hers also to her favorite flower the rose so her name was changed to Rosia. They both took on the last name Sumyang after a favorite author of Laven and thus the new life was started and the old one left to its ways.They both eventually moved to the Mist, where Laven could keep an eye on the coastal lands and the nature around the Limsa area for the Seers and also a new adventure of opening a shop.
